Medomak Valley boys basketball team defeated Belfast 63-53 in the Lions den on Jan. 19. The Panthers led 17-15 at the quarter, before opening up a 31-25 lead at the half, then holding on for their second win of the season.
Panthers Pounce on Oceanside Medomak 59 - Oceanside 48
Medomak Valley boys basketball team opened their season with a 59-48 win at Oceanside on Jan. 15. The Panthers took the lead for good in the first quarter and rolled to a 16-10 first quarter lead, and then build an 18 point lead by the half to put the game away early. The second half turned into a foul shooting contest early with Medomak sinking 13 of 23 and Oceanside 11 of 19.
Mariners Sail Past Lady Panthers Oceanside 60 - Medomak 51
Oceanside girls basketball team defeated Medomak Valley 60-51 in the Panthers den on Jan. 15. The Mariners used the three point bomb and back door cuts to take a 27 point lead in the third quarter. Medomak rallied with a 20-2 run over two periods to cut the lead to nine with five minutes to play.
CLC YMCA Tennis Programs
The Central Lincoln County YMCA designed a new Happy Apple Tennis program for middle school and high school students to play tennis, free of charge. The program starts on Jan. 8, and will be held on Fridays from 3-4 p.m.
Medomak Cancels Games with Lincoln Academy
Medomak Valley athletic director Matt Lash announced that the school has cancelled all athletic events for Mon., Oct. 26, due to a possible exposure of an athlete to COVID-19.

Lincoln Academy boys soccer team shut out Oceanside 5-0 on Oct. 22 in Thomaston. Maddox Tilas netted two goals and Jake Masters, Levi Farrin and Ben Sawyer one each.
Lady Panthers Shut Out Morse While Playing a Man Down Medomak 4 - Morse 0
Medomak Valley girls soccer team defeated Morse 4-0 in Bath on Oct. 24. The Lady Panthers played a man down for 68 minutes of play, after Stephanie Morse was red carded for language after getting knocked to the ground twice.
Medomak Boys Soccer Hammer Out Win over Shipbuilders Medomak 8 - Morse 1
Medomak Valley boys soccer team defeated Morse 8-1 on Oct. 24 in the Panthers den. Zach Cheesman netted the hat trick, Jack Duncan added two goals and Coleman Swain, Addison Mellor and Ian Doughty one each. Mellor and Doughty added two assists each, and Cheesman, Duncan and Isaiah Staples one each.
Maine Principals’ Association Denies Press Access to State XC Meet
The Maine Principal’s Association is not going to allow the press at attend any State Cross Country championships this fall. The KVAC announced on Oct. 22 that the media was not going to be allowed to attend their championship meets. After which, the LCN reached out to the MPA for clarification on the State championship meets.

As of press time on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference and the Maine Principals’ Association will not be allowing the press to attend the KVAC regional qualifier or the state cross-country championships.
