Lady Eagles and Seahawks Battle to Overtime Tie
Lincoln Academy and Boothbay Region field hockey teams battled to a 1-1 overtime tie on Oct. 14 under the lights in Newcastle. Kylie Brown scored on a penalty corner in the third period with Mara Gentry collecting the assist. Reegan Dunican scored the neutralizer in the fourth quarter on a hustle play and pass from Madison Phelps.

The Medomak Valley boys soccer team battled Oceanside to a scoreless tie on Friday, Oct. 9 in Thomaston.

Medomak Valley girls soccer team shut out Oceanside 5-0 on Friday, Oct. 9 on the Lady Panthers home turf. Annie Vannoy and Abby Lash converted a penalty kick each.
Lincoln Wins Opening Cross Country Meets Medomak runners win individually
Medomak Valley hosted their first cross country meet of the season on Sept. 26 with Lincoln Academy. Racers lined up six feet apart at the start. There were no cow bells, roar of the crowd or cheers along the way, as the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference made the tough decision during the COVID-19 pandemic to not allow spectators at any sporting events this fall.
Fall Sports Get Green Light, with Restrictions Pre-season starts Mon, Sept. 14
The Maine Principals’ Association announced Thursday, Sept. 10 that most fall sports have been given the green light to play under its revised “School Sports Guidance: Return to Competition for Competitive Athletics and Activities in Maine” policy. The two exceptions are football and indoor volleyball.

FlingGolf Debuts at Wawenock
FlingGolf, a sport where almost anything goes, made its debut at Wawenock Golf Club in Walpole in mid-July. The sport, played with a golf ball on a golf course, uses a single club called a FlingStick. The ball is placed in the pocket of the stick and is thrown, tossed, pushed, or putted around the course.
