Winthrop girls basketball team defeated Boothbay Region 38-34 in the South Class C regional championship game on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Augusta Civic Center. The game came down to the wire, with Boothbay having 38 seconds to tie the game up. Multiple Seahawks shots failed to fall, and Winthrop’s Lydia Rice came away with the rebound with two seconds to play. Rice was fouled and made both shots for a four point Rambler win.
Wiscasset Boys Basketball Team to Receive Sportsmanship Award Saturday, Feb. 29 7 pm. Augusta Civic Center
The Wiscasset boys basketball team will receive the South Class C Good Sportsmanship Award on Sat., Feb. 29 at the Augusta Civic Center, before the State Class C girls finals around 7 p.m.
Boothbay Girls Advance to Regional Finals Boothbay 46 - Traip 32
Boothbay Region girls basketball team defeated Traip Academy 46-32 on Feb. 20 at the Augusta Civic Center in a South Class C semi-final match-up. With the win the Lady Seahawks advance to the South C Regional championship game against Winthrop, to be played on Sat. Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. in Augusta. Boothbay defeated Winthrop twice during the regular season and lost to them in the Mt. Valley Conference championship, setting up a re-match for a chance to play for a gold ball.
Waynflete Grounds the Seahawks Waynflete 53 - Boothbay 41
Waynflete defeated Boothbay boys basketball 53-41 in a South Class C Regional match-up at the Augusta Civic Center on Feb. 20. With the win, the Flyers advance to the Regional championship game.
Rams Hustle Past Panthers Cony 77 - Medomak 52
Cony defeated Medomak Valley 77-52 in a North Class A semi-final game on Feb. 29 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Lincoln Academy boys swim team won the State Class B championship in the 200 free relay at Bowdoin College in Brunswick on Feb. 18. Swimming on the championship team were Andrew Nery, Zak Bhe, Sam Richard and Braxton Farrin.

Defending State champs and second seed Boothbay Regions girls basketball team defeated seventh seed Sacopee Valley 55-35 on Feb. 18 in a South Class C quarter-final match-up at the Augusta Civic Center.

Boothbay boys basketball team defeated Mt.Abram 59-54 in a South Class C quarter-final match-up on Feb. 17 at the Augusta Civic Center. The two teams were no strangers heading into the game, with the Seahawks capturing a three point win over the Roadrunners five games into their MVC season.
Medomak Boys Advance Past Skowhegan with Overtime Thriller Medomak 50 - Skowhegan 46
Trailing by 11 early in the fourth quarter, Medomak Valley boys basketball team clawed their way back to beat Skowhegan 50-46 in overtime in a North Class A Regional quarter-final match-up on Sat., Feb. 15 at the Augusta Civic Center.
Medomak Girls Win State Class B 4×800 Relay
Medomak Valley were crowned State Class B champions in the 4×800 relay on Sat., Feb. 15 at Bates College in Lewiston. Running a leg on the winning relay were Mackenzie Emerson, Serena Blasius, Olivia Parent and Alexis Parent.
Four Panthers Place in State Class B Wrestling Tyler Cox crowned 170 pound State champion
Four Medomak Valley wrestlers placed at the State Class B championships, held Feb. 15 at Fryeburg Academy. Tyler Cox was crowned 170 pound champion. Erik Benner placed second at 195 pounds, Jakob Gess third at 220 pounds and Gavin Readinger fourth at 126 pounds.
Gardiner Eliminates Medomak Girls from Post Season Play Gardiner 58 - Medomak 30
On paper, Medomak Valley’s North Class A quarter-final game with Gardiner looked to go down to the wire, as the two teams split in close games during their KVAC season. The Lady Panthers came out flat, and the Tigers took full advantage to take a 13-2 lead at the end of one.
