Rotary Club Sponsors Volunteer Fair
The Rotary Club of Damariscotta-Newcastle is excited to sponsor a volunteer fair at the CLC YMCA from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 19. Twenty-five local volunteer groups will be available at the fair to offer information and volunteer opportunities to anyone, regardless of age.
Maine Humorist Tim Sample Opens Art Exhibit At Opera House
Renowned Maine humorist and storyteller Tim Sample will share some of his not-so-hidden other artistic talents this summer. An exhibit of his illustrations and art work opens on Friday, May 16 in the gallery at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor. Guests will have the opportunity to see a broad spectrum of his work and speak with him in the upstairs gallery. Doors for the free reception open at 4 p.m.
Tapestry Singers Welcome Instrumentalists For Two Concerts
Tapestry Singers will be joined by an amazing group of instrumentalists for concerts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 15 at the Damariscotta Baptist Church.

Beverly Hillmann Eckhardt, 96, of Lincoln and Wayland, Mass., died peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Her loving husband, Homer, predeceased her by two years after their recent move to the Residence at Paine Estate in Wayland.

Dara M. (Butler) Carberg, 85, of Venice, Fla., a retired elementary school teacher in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, died April 30, 2025 while under Tidewell Hospice care at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice. She had been a resident of Liana, a memory care facility in Venice, since last August.

Frederick Lynn Fagin, known to his friends and family as Fred, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at 6:02 p.m., with his devoted wife Angela, their son Colin, his brother Lynn, and sister-in-law Debbie at his side. A longtime resident of Whitefield and Somerville, Fred had been under the compassionate care of the VA staff at Togus for several weeks prior to his passing.
