Gary L. Collamore, 78, of Newcastle, passed away on the morning of Dec. 8, 2024 at the Sussman House in Rockport after a period of declining health.

Robert J. Nee, 87, of Damariscotta, died of Alzheimer’s disease, peacefully at home with family by his side, on the evening of Dec. 5, 2024.
Lawrence Macphail Vinal
Lawrence Macphail Vinal died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024. He was picking up Thanksgiving pies for his family when he collapsed. Larry was 67 years old and had been successfully battling cancer. In his typical fashion, he was brave, strong, and uncomplaining as he faced yet another health issue.
Theodore John Lambert 1970 – 2024
Theodore John Lambert, known fondly to most as Ted, lived a life that was characterized by a deep and abiding love for his family, friends, and his work. His heart was big, his humor was infectious, and he was the most animated storyteller. Born Feb. 27, 1970, in Brunswick, Theodore was a proud native of Maine, having grown up in Bowdoin, and residing in Bath, where he began a career at Bath Iron Works as a welder.
Conservation Easement Paves Way for Accessible Trail Along the Damariscotta River
Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust is a significant step closer to bringing the community’s vision of a fully accessible, mile-long trail connecting Round Top Farm to Salt Bay Farm in Damariscotta to fruition, thanks to the update of a conservation easement owned by Laura and Vanessa Shields-Haas in early November.

Cheryl Bailey, 65, of Auburn, formerly of Damariscotta, was welcomed into the arms of her predeceased husband, Arthur Bailey, on the morning of Nov. 27 after a courageous battle against a fast-moving infection, surrounded by her children.
David A. Shields Sept. 9, 1947 - Nov. 25, 2024
The world lost one of the good guys on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, with the passing of David A. Shields. “Doc,” as he was called by his beloved wife of 44 years, and “Tata” to his grandchildren, died peacefully surrounded by his family at age 77 in Portland. David was born on Sept. 9, 1947, in Montclair, N.J., to Eugene Hunt Shields and Jean A. (True) Shields. Educated at Roselle Park High School (class of 1965) and Marshall University (class of 1969) in West Virginia, David’s career in small business development took him and Amy all over the world. David moved to Maine in retirement to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren after living in Harmony, N.J. and Hellertown, Pa.
L. Dewey Chase Dec. 29, 1941 - Nov. 29, 2024
On Nov. 29, our beloved father climbed the “golden stairs” for the last time, passing away at 82 years young. A lifelong resident of Bristol, Dad faithfully read The Lincoln County News every week, starting with the obituaries and then the court news, to ensure he was in neither. He made us promise that his obituary, when the inevitable time came, would be neither sad nor boring. Here goes, Dad.
Robert V. Anderson
Robert V. Anderson, 80, of Walpole, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024. Bob was born in Staten Island, N.Y. and grew up and attended school on the island. There, he was active as a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout. Bob attended Paul Smith’s College, where he met and married his wife of 57 years, Sandie (Kubie) Anderson.
