Wayne W. Simmons, 82, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and girls by his side, on the evening of Sept. 2, 2021. He was born in Waldoboro on Feb. 8, 1939, the son of Pearl A. and Ida M. (Sprague) Simmons.

Katherine (Kathy) Marie Benner July 1, 1961 - Aug. 29, 2021

Katherine (Kathy) Marie Benner, 60, of Waldoboro, passed away on Aug. 29, 2021, at the home of her sister, Dolly Griesenbrock, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer with the loving care of her two sisters, Teresa and Dolly, at her side constantly.

Newcastle History At Old County Road

Cars zoom over Deer Meadow Brook on Route 215 and on the Sheepscot Road, but deep in the center of Newcastle there is no road or bridge, today, across Deer Meadow Brook, on the Old County Road. This is a part of Newcastle not often seen by the traveler. It is what makes Newcastle a two river town.

New Veterinarian at Medomak Veterinary Services

Medomak Veterinary Services is overjoyed to announce the addition of Dr. Aria Fowlie to its family. Dr. Fowlie is a graduate of the Cornell School of Veterinary Medicine and has most recently been practicing in Presque Isle. She is a native of the Midcoast area, originally from Thomaston.
