Folks, this past week has been pretty eventful to say the least: a conviction for a senseless killing in Minneapolis, where it appears justice has prevailed, and another historic flight to the international space station.

New Art Exhibit at CLC YMCA

The Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta will host a solo exhibit of landscapes and waterscapes by South Bristol artist Sally Loughridge May through July. Each of the paintings in this show is for sale through the artist. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the CLC YMCA.

A graveside service for Benjamin Pitcher, who passed away on Feb. 3, 2021, will be held at the Levensaler Cemetery in Washington on Wednesday, May 12 at 1 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.

A Mass of Christian burial for Philip Cameron, who passed away on Jan. 22, 2021, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 14 at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle.

A graveside service for Helen Pietila, who passed away on Aug. 28, 2020, will be held at the Dunbar Cemetery in Nobleboro on Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m. A celebration of life gathering will follow at 12 p.m. at her home. Masks and social distancing are required.

Online Art Auction to Benefit Maine Art Gallery

The Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset has gathered a number of noteworthy, yet affordable, works of art for an online auction that will be open for bidding May 1 to June 15. The pieces, donated by artists and collectors, offer the buyer an opportunity to obtain fine art while helping to support the nonprofit gallery.
