Route 1 Roadwork Expected

The Maine Department of Transportation will be starting a paving project on Route 1 in Wiscasset and Woolwich beginning the week of Aug. 24. The project area begins a quarter mile north of Montsweag in Woolwich and extends north for nearly four miles, ending just south of where Route 1 meets Route 27 in Wiscasset.

And no, it’s not where I have been for the last two or three months, although there is a story to that too, but I’ll leave it for another day! Hollis C. Nelson Jr., 82, of Nobleboro, passed away on Aug. 20, 2020 at Brentwood Rehab & Nursing Center in Yarmouth. He was born on June 29, 1938 in the Nelson homestead on Belvedere Road, to Hollis C. and Dorothy M. Hilton Nelson.

Patricia Woodward Deahl April 6, 1948 - Aug. 20, 2020

Heaven gained another angel on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, when Patricia Woodward Deahl passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland with her family by her side after a brief illness. Born in Damariscotta, on April 6, 1948, she was the daughter of Cathrine “Kitsie” and Chester Woodward.

Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition Motorcycle Ride

The Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition will be holding its third annual “Ride-4-Recovery” on Saturday, Sept. 19. The open-to-all Rockland to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse motorcycle ride will begin at Fisher Engineering at 50 Gordon Drive in Rockland. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with “kickstands up” at 10 a.m. Registration has been discounted this year to $10 so that everyone is able to attend.
