‘Summer’s End’ Art Show at Ocean Point Inn

Ocean Point Inn will host “Summer’s End,” an art show featuring the works of local and regional artists. The show will open on Wednesday, Sept. 2 and run through Monday, Oct. 12. An opening reception for the artists will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Ocean Point Inn, 191 Shore Rd. in East Boothbay.

Funds Raised for New Autism Care Facility

Paul and Giselaine Coulombe have helped to raise more than $585,000 toward Maine Behavioral Healthcare’s 28,000 square-foot treatment, training, and research facility that will directly support Maine individuals with autism and developmental disorders and their families.

‘Back to School Bash’ a Success

The CLC YMCA’s annual “Back to School Bash” was a huge success despite limitations presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. A new satellite rotary group of community members supported handing out backpacks, family meal kits from Lincoln County Food Initiative, and school supplies to more than 160 local students from 15 area schools and home-schooled students.

Pantry to Receive September Support

The Help Yourself Shelf located at St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset is honored to be the recipient of funds generated at the Wiscasset Shaw’s Supermarket during the month of September. Each special bag purchased will award $1 to the Help Yourself Shelf to be used for purchasing supplies through Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Author to Offer Online Writing Workshops

Award-winning author, Jodi Paloni, will offer generative writing workshops in the “gateless writing method” online via Zoom in September. The “gateless writing method” is founded on the idea that humans are naturally inclined to connect by sharing their stories, that everyone has an interesting story to tell, and that supportive feedback provides encouragement to the writer in the next stage of the writing practice.
