Morris to Retire as Jefferson Fire Chief

Jefferson Fire Chief Walter “Wally” Morris is retiring after 18 years with the department, serving 12 of those years as fire chief. Morris will remain with the department until October, serving as assistant fire chief.

Thomas E. McClean, 59, of Warren, formerly of Austin, Texas, passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland on April 21, 2022, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash. Tom was born April 19, 1963, to parents Gerald McClean and Susan (Sippl) McClean.

Starr A. Barry, artist, spiritual explorer, colleague, friend, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on April 16, 2022, following a courageous battle with mesothelioma. She was 77 years of age.

Alan Barnes Cheney passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022, at the Sussman House in Rockport after enduring a long battle with cancer. Born in Lynn, Mass., on July 26, 1941, he was the son of Raymond Cheney Jr. and Helen (Ossoling) Cheney.
