Wade E. McLaughlin, 49, of Whitefield, born Aug. 18, 1972 in Fort Fairfield, passed away suddenly on Jan. 19, 2022 as a result of complications of a heart attack. Wade was born the son of Leona (Philbrick, McLaughlin) Michaud and Lloyd McLaughlin.

Whitefield Library Whitefield Library Reopens

Despite the overcast sky and the chilly breeze atop Grand Army Hill in N. Whitefield, the “OPEN” flag flapped its invitation once again to all who passed through town; beckoning them to please stop in and to take a peek at the new library that is now open for business!

Salt Bay Farm is a favorite local destination for sledding. The big hill behind the parking lot offers a long, fast descent to those with a taste for speed, while the gentle hill just behind the farmhouse is just right for a milder ride.

Sen. Maxmin to Host Virtual Office Hours

Due to predicted inclement weather, Sen. Chloe Maxmin, D-Nobleboro, will be holding her office hours scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 29 over Zoom. Her office hours were previously set to take place at Maine Booch Brewing in Damariscotta.

Bristol Area Lion Michael Hope recently presented Susan Glueck a $500 donation to the Community Housing Improvement Project home-repair program.

MPA Regional Cheerleading Competition Postponed

Due to the impending storm forecasted for Saturday, Jan. 29, the MPA Regional Cheerleading Competition at the Cross Center in Bangor and the Augusta Civic Center have been postponed to Saturday, Feb. 5.

Ann Merry Service Announcement

A memorial gathering to remember Ann Merry, of Wiscasset, who passed away on Dec. 13, 2021, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at the Wiscasset Community Center. She will be laid to rest privately in the spring.

Elizabeth M. Lane, of New Harbor, passed away at her home on the afternoon of Jan. 18, 2022, one week shy of her 91st birthday.

Hello all, greetings from me, Henry. I am adjusting to life here in Maine quite well. Louisiana is not as cold; I mean, yikes, 8 degrees below 0! Who would have thought! I don’t know exactly what that means, but I hear my mom and dad talking and it sounds awful!
