Lincoln Academy Postpones Season Until April 28
Lincoln Academy postponed their spring season due to a COVID-91 outbreak at the Newcastle school. They will start their season on Wednesday, April 28.
Lady Panthers Smash 15 Hits in Season Opener Medomak 17 - Belfast 1
Medomak Valley softball opened their season with a 17-1 five inning mercy ruling win at Belfast on April 20.
Lions Baseball Win Battle of Big Cats Belfast 7 - Medomak 1
Belfast defeated Medomak Valley’s baseball team 7-1 on April 10 in the Lions’ den. Belfast jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first then added five runs in the third. Medomak scored their lone run in the sixth. Chris Kelley collected the win for Belfast and Kallon Mortinson took the loss.
Midcoast Elite Makes Home at the MAC
The Midcoat Athletics Center announced this week that the Midcoast Elite basketball club (MCE) will be calling the MAC their new home. Founded in 2019, the MCE was established with the goal of being an affordable, competitive spring and fall travel basketball program. The program has proven exceptionally successful, starting with just two teams in 2019 and expanding to nine teams last season. Athletes range from fifth to 12th grade.
Stermen Hosts Basketball Clinic at the MAC
The MAC, located on Rte. 1 in Warren, is excited to announce that they have partnered with Maine’s only Professional Basketball Association team, the Midcoast Sternmen. They will offer weekly spring basketball training sessions for grades K-8 beginning the week of April 26.
Graffam to Head Up New Midcoast Pro Basketball Team Pro basketball coming to midcoast
Brad Galley, a former college coach and a local banker in Rockland, has purchased the rights to a pro basketball franchise in the Pro Basketball Association. The team is named the Midcoast Sternmen.
Medomak Cheering State B Runners-Up Hermon State champs
Medomak Valley cheerleaders brought home more bling to add to an already packed trophy case. The Panther squad won silver at the Maine Virtual State Class B championships, behind five time champions Hermon High School.
MAC Announces Basketball All-Stars All-Star games will be held on Fri., April 2
Midcoast Athletic Center in Warren announced their Midcoast High School All-Star team on March 31. The all-star roster includes top players from all schools in the Midcoast “pod”.
Medomak Cheerleaders Re-Capture KVAC Title Virtual competition
Medomak Valley won the 2021 KVAC cheering championship with a score of 60.8. Morse High School placed second with 54.4 points. The event was held virtually with each team recording their routine and submitting it electronically to a panel of judges.
Foul Shots Lift Camden Hills over Medomak in Kno-Wal-Lin Finals Camden 50 - Medomak 41
Camden Hills boys basketball team defeated Medomak 50-41 for the Kno-Wal-Lin Tournament championship on March 11 in the Panthers den. The Windjammers netted the first 12 points of the ball game led by three 3-pointers from Jeremy Fraser. Medomak stayed within striking distance all game, but Camden led 12-5 at the quarter break, 30-25 at the half and 36-31 at the end of three.
Oceanside Clips the Panthers for Kno-Wal-Lin Championship Oceanside 44 - Medomak 39
The undefeated Oceanside girls basketball team held off the Lady Panthers to win the Kno-Wal-Lin tournament championship on March 11 in Rockland. Medomak led 10-7 at the quarter, led by two 3-pointers from Alyssa Creamer.
Lady Eagles Wrap Up Season with a Win Lincoln 45 - Richmond 40
Lincoln Academy girls basketball team wrapped up their season on March 9 with a 45-40 win over Richmond in the Eagles nest. Richmond led 10-5 at the quarter and 21-19 at the half, before the Lady Eagles rallied in the third on three 3-pointers from Maddy York to take a 33-31 lead into the break. Lincoln held on in wild fourth quarter, making five of eight foul shots in the final 32 seconds of play to pull out the five point win.
Lincoln Boys Tame Bobcats LIncoln 61 - Richmond 47
Lincoln Academy snapped a nine game losing streak on March 9 with a 61-47 win on the road at Richmond. The Eagles finish the season with a 2-9 record.
