Lady Seahawks Soar Over Bobcats Boothbay 44 - Richmond 32
Boothbay Region girls basketball team defeated visiting Richmond 44-32 on Feb. 18. The Bobcats led 6-2 early before the Lady Seahawks netted 16 straight points over two quarters to put the game away.
Smooth Sailing for Mariners in Eagles Nest Oceanside 86 - Lincoln 26
An experienced Mariner team raided Eagle territory for a 86-26 win on Feb. 17. The Mariners jumped out to an 18-6 first quarter lead, then held Lincoln to a single basket in the second frame to put the game away early.
Mariners Ground the Lady Eagles Oceanside 70 - Lincoln 30
Oceanside girls basketball team defeated Lincoln Academy 70-30 on Feb. 17 in Rockland. The Lady Mariners jumped out to a 23-10 first quarter lead and scored 24 unanswered points at the end of the first period and beginning of the second to put the game away early. The Mariners sank 13 3-pointers in the win, led by Grace Woodman with five and Audrey Mackie four.
Ice Palace Opens in Boothbay
Food Trucks A-Go in Boothbay has built the first ice palace in Maine made from running water that has been frozen into a giant castle. Eighty to 100 years ago there were a few ice castles in Maine, but they were made from blocks of ice. The Boothbay Ice Palace is complete with hallways and a grand staircase to the roof.
Lincoln vs. Oceanside Games Moved Up Moved to Wed., Feb. 17
Due to the impending weather at the end of the week, Lincoln Academy has moved their Friday basketball games to this Wednesday, Feb. 17, two days early. The game times will remain the same, boys varsity at LA at 6:30 p.m., and the girls varsity at 4:30 p.m. at Oceanside.
Morse Avenges Loss to Lady Eagles Morse 52 - Lincoln 45
Morse avenged an earlier season loss to the Lady Eagles on Feb. 15, 53-45 at Lincoln Academy. The Eagles trailed 19-13 at the quarter before knotting the score 26-26 at the half. Morse led 42-35 at the end of three. Julia Goddard hit a couple of big threes for the Shipbuilders early in the fourth quarter to break the game open.

Eagle Rally Falls Short at Camden Camden 67- Lincoln 50
Camden Hills boys basketball team defeated Lincoln Academy 67-50 in Rockport on Feb. 12. The Windjammers jumped out to a 23-9 first quarter lead and extended it to 43-18 at the half. The Eagles took flight in the second half, out scoring the Windjammers 32-24 but it was not enough to overcome the first half deficit.
