Scholarship Pie Sale in Bremen July 2 Submitted article
The Patriotic Club of Bremen is having its annual scholarship pie sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 2 at the Bremen Town House. All proceeds from this event go into the club’s scholarship fund, which provides every Bremen high school graduate who pursues further education a $500 scholarship.
Boothbay V.E.T.S Named Coulombe Center Innovation Award Winner Submitted article
An innovative program to help veterans who are homeless was selected as the 2022 Coulombe Center for Health Improvement recipient. The award was presented at a small ceremony at Coastal Prime in Boothbay Harbor on June 14.
Summer Farm Camp at Morris Farm Submitted article
Morris Farm is excited to announce registration for Summer Farm Camp is now open. Utilizing the farm’s livestock and gardens, camp starts Tuesday, July 5, with eight weekly sessions running through Friday, Aug. 26.

Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District and Maine DEP are co-sponsoring an in-person day-long training in basic sediment and erosion control practices certification for contractors on Thursday, June 23 at Camden Opera House, Camden. Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust Takes on Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Submitted article
When Joan Ray walked through the grove of ancient hemlocks at the Waldoboro Town Forest late last summer and spotted telltale white woolly masses on the underside of hemlock branches, she was filled with a sense of dread. The hemlock woolly adelgid insect, which is decimating hemlock trees throughout the eastern U.S., had infested this grove of hemlock trees, some of which pre-date the Revolutionary War.
Veggies to Table Needs Volunteers Submitted article
Veggies to Table grew and donated more than 16,000 pounds of organic produce to the hungry in the local community last season.
