Mid-Coast Audubon Bird Seed Fundraiser

It’s time to prepare for spring bird-feeding. Mid-Coast Audubon will be accepting bird seed orders until Feb. 25 to raise funds to support bird conservation and education programming. Orders can be placed online or by mail-in form available at midcoast.maineaudubon.org.

Lincoln County College Connection Classes Set to Begin

For those who are 19 or older and planning to go to college but don’t know where to start, the Lincoln County College Connection (TLC3) could be the solution. TLC3 provides one-on-one counseling, mentoring and academic support to help one successfully move on to college and earn a degree and/or decide on a career that is the perfect fit.

Weekend Food Programs

Bristol Consolidated School: The program is run by the nonprofit Caring for Kids. Parents can call the BCS main office at 677-2678 for more information.

Midcoast Conservancy Accepts Land Donation in Memory of Nancy Duffy

In December 2021, Midcoast Conservancy accepted a generous donation of 45-acre Aranyani: Nancy Ellis Duffy Nature Preserve from Leonard Duffy, in memory of his wife, the late Nancy Duffy. The name Aranyani was chosen because she is an ancient Hindu goddess that animates and protects the forests and the animals that live within them.

Alna  

The Alna Food Pantry is located on the back lower level of the town office, 1574 Alna Road. It is open Wednesday afternoons from 3 to 5 p.m. 

MaineHealth Refines Return to Work Policy

at

MaineHealth is altering slightly its policy with respect to how care team members return to work after a case of COVID-19, dropping a requirement for a negative antigen test following a completed quarantine period, according to a news release. The change does not conflict with existing CDC guidance for returning health care team members to the workplace after contracting COVID-19.

Support Group for Grandparents, Caregivers

Starting in February, Healthy Lincoln County, in collaboration with The Congregational Church of Bristol, will offer support for grandparents raising grandchildren.

New Hope Midcoast Seeks Volunteers

New Hope Midcoast, formerly New Hope for Women, which provides support to victims of domestic abuse, dating violence, and stalking, is looking to expand its network of helpline volunteers.

Sen. Maxmin to Host Virtual Office Hours

Due to predicted inclement weather, Sen. Chloe Maxmin, D-Nobleboro, will be holding her office hours scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 29 over Zoom. Her office hours were previously set to take place at Maine Booch Brewing in Damariscotta.

Bristol Area Lions Donate to CHIP

Bristol Area Lion Michael Hope recently presented Susan Glueck a $500 donation to the Community Housing Improvement Project home-repair program.
