Queen Elizabeth II was the most photographed, the most talked about, spied upon, praised, criticized, and popular woman on the planet. All over the globe and in every moment of her long life, which came to an end this year at the age of 96, people have always wanted to watch her through a peephole, discover new things about her, get to know her better, connect with her and understand her.

Four Lincoln Academy students will join the Tapestry Singers during the local community choir’s annual holiday concerts, “Home for the Holidays,” on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 18, at 4 p.m. at the Damariscotta Baptist Church.

The ghost of Jacob Marley will try to help Scrooge mend his miserly ways in the River Company’s staged reading of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol.” The reading will be performed in the Porter Hall at the Skidompha Library, Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m.

The Heather Pierson Trio will bring its holiday “A Charlie Brown Christmas” show to The Waldo Theatre at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11.

Heartwood Theater’s 1940’s Lux Radio Theater Show, adapted from Frank Capra’s movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” will return this holiday season for one weekend only, with performances on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3.

George Mason’s Holiday Art Open House will be on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday the 4th and feature a variety of affordable miniature works called Heart Protectors.

Lincoln Academy will host in-person holiday concerts this year for band, jazz band, and choir, and the public is invited to attend.

The Waldo Theatre is kicking-off the holiday season with a fun and festive post-Thanksgiving “Sound of Music Community Sing-A-Long” on Friday, Nov. 25, at 4 p.m.

Music fans packed the sold-out Waldo Theatre on Thursday, Nov. 10 for an electric, eclectic concert by Bass Extremes, a collaboration featuring world-renowned bassists Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey.
