Summer is only days away and the Wiscasset Art Walk, on the last Thursday of the summer months, welcomes area residents and visitors from away to enjoy art, music, and performance, indoors and out, in the heart of Wiscasset village.

Grab a tube and join the Sheepscot Knotweed Project for a float down the beautiful Sheepscot River in Alna beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 1.

Kick off summer and Fourth of July weekend by enjoying the sounds and spirit of summer’s awakening. A celebration of music, song, and spoken word will take place from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 in the big red barn at Inn Along the Way, 741 Main St. in Damariscotta.

As part of the celebration of the town of Damariscotta’s 175th year, Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust and the Central Lincoln County YMCA are hosting a Quartoseptcentennial 5K trail run, walk, and fun run and other festivities at Coastal Rivers Round Top Farm in Damariscotta starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 1.

Artists from all over Maine will create paintings this week in Wiscasset and throughout Lincoln County during Maine Art Gallery’s Paint Wiscasset and Beyond event. The public is invited to observe the artists as they interpret the local landscape.

From 3:30-5 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust’s Sarah Gladu and guest biologist and aquatic ecologist Dan Boward will host the program “Exploring Creek Critters” at the Bristol Recreational Trail in Bristol.

It is hoped that five evening concerts, a yard sale, and a silent auction scheduled for this summer at New Harbor United Methodist Church will help contribute the funds necessary to complete the two-year renovation project.
