The First Congregational Church’s Summerfest will return to the Wiscasset Common on Saturday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gardeners can once again look forward to the annual Old Bristol Garden Club plant sale, which will take place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5. The sale will take place at the Mobius Community Center in Damariscotta on Main Street next to Rising Tide Co-op. There is plenty of parking at the site.

The Friends of Westport Island History will host a family scavenger hunt from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 23 at the Carl and Barbara Segerstrom Preserve at Squam Creek on Westport Island. The preserve is a Kennebec Estuary Land Trust property.

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust invites families with children ages 5-12 to join Penny Jessop for a morning of birding at Bonyun Preserve at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15.

On Thursday, May 13 at 4:30 pm, the Boothbay Region Historical Society will kick off its 2021 speaker series with historian Mike Dekker’s talk, “Shared Ground: An Exploration of 17th-Century Indigenous and Euromerican Cultures through Gardening.” Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this free talk will be available by Zoom only.

Immersion into foraging and wild food preservation, forest bathing, and nature journaling is at the heart of a five-weekend course coming to the Midcoast community this summer.

Midcoast Conservancy will offer a virtual workshop, Foraging for Wild Mushrooms: The Season Begins, from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 20. The workshop will be led by Greg Marley.

The Waldoborough Historical Society will kick off its 2021 programming season with a talk from research archaeologist Harbour Mitchell III on Thursday, April 22. The presentation will take place at Soule-Shuman Memorial Post 4525 on Mill Street and begin at 7 p.m.
