One of the world’s best smiles has left this place and gone on ahead to give its light in the next one, where surely her adoring husband (and best friend) of 72 years, having passed away last November, awaits her with his own.

Kerry G. Courville passed away at home on the evening of Oct. 2, 2021, after a period of declining health. He was born to George and Geraldine Courville in Caribou on March 4, 1955.

Barbara L. Kane, Nov. 21, 1929 – March 8, 2020, was born and raised in Rockland, later moving to Waldoboro when she married Robert Kane, Sr. She worked for both the family business, Bear Hill Market, and later ran her own hot dog stand in Waldoboro, as well as selling Avon for many years.

At age 90, James A. “Jimmy” Smith, Jr. passed peacefully of old age on Sept. 29, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Betty Mason, a longtime Owls Head resident, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at Cove’s Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta.

George Henry Runyon died peacefully on Sept. 9, 2021. Born to Magdalena (Mueller) and Robert Marshall Runyon on Dec. 4, 1950, in Neptune, N.J., George led a full and happy life.

Dr. Leslie Estelle Ekberg Angell died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, after a long-term battle with early onset dementia.

Barbara Anne Betts, 69, of Nobleboro, passed away at Mid Coast Hospital on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021.

Geraldine “Gerry” Grace Jones (Achorn), 93, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 29, 1928, to Amos and Myrtle (Wentworth) Achorn in Waldoboro. Geraldine grew up in Waldoboro and graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1947.

On Aug. 21, 2021, 62-year-old Amber L. Collins, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Dresden, passed away peacefully at Suncoast Hospice in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Welsie Jane Howard, 89, of Chamberlain, passed away on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Chase Point in Damariscotta. Born on Oct. 27, 1931, in LaGrange, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Arthur D. and Welsie (Smith) Swanson.

Janice Irene Selvick, 84, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2021. Janice was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on May 20, 1937, the daughter of Henry and Molly Behling. She was raised in Milwaukee, graduated from Lutheran High School in Milwaukee.

Patricia Ann Reid passed away peacefully on Sept. 24, 2021, at Windward Gardens in Camden. She was born on Sept. 1, 1936, to Beulah Isabelle Fabrick and Anthony Joseph Fabrick in Estherville, Iowa.

Caterina Lucia (nee Miglioresi) Quercia, age 99, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at her Hodgdon Green residence in Damariscotta. December would have been her 100th birthday.
