Elsie Jennette Fossett Herald, 91, of Damariscotta, passed away on the afternoon of Sept. 13, 2021 at Riverside, Chase Point in Damariscotta.

Roland Sawyer Barth, educator, sailor, farmer, 84, a product of public elementary school in Miami, Fla., and a one-room schoolhouse in Alna, spent his career as a teacher, principal, professor, consultant, and author, working tirelessly to improve public education and foster communities of lifelong learning. He passed away peacefully on Sept. 12, 2021, in Maine surrounded by his family.

Alfred Clement Bourgoin, 87, of Walpole, passed away peacefully with his wife Sandra by his side, on the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2021. Born on Nov. 11, 1933 in Bath, he was the son of Alfred Sr. and Evelyn (Coombs) Bourgoin.

Ruth E. Castner, 89, of Waldoboro, left her family very peacefully on the evening of Sept. 8, 2021, heading out on the road again for her next great trip. Ruth was known as “GG” or “Gram” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paul T. Farrin, 85, of South Bristol, died peacefully at home on his birthday, Sept. 5, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Sept. 5, 1936, in Damariscotta, he was the son of Afton and Annie May Farrin.

Jack Sarmanian, of Wells and formerly Edgecomb, and Lexington and Watertown, Mass., passed away on Sept.11, 2021.

Priscilla P. (Verney) Puckey, 81, of Newcastle, passed away on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, surrounded by her family at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, after a yearlong battle with heart disease.

Colleen A. Cox, 88, earned her angel wings on Sept. 11, 2021, at Glenridge in Augusta, and flew into the sunrise.

We sadly announce that James F. Doyle Jr. passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2021 after several years of ill health. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on Dec. 11, 1936 to James F. and Margaret Gaffney Doyle.

Peter Lincoln Rines, 59, of Wiscasset, passed away on the afternoon of Sept. 8, 2021, following a long illness, surrounded by his loved ones. Peter was born in Damariscotta on Aug. 19, 1962, the fifth of seven children born to Benjamin and Virginia (Butler) Rines.

Kerstin Maria Brown (nee Bäck), of Wiscasset, passed away at Mid Coast Hospital on Sept. 2, 2021. She was born on Sept. 15, 1928 in Göteborg, Sweden, to Gertrude (nee Billberg) and Gunnar Bäck.

Dylan Lucas Webber, 31, of Portland, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 2, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at Maine Medical Center.
