The eighth annual Dustin Osier Memorial alumni girls and boys basketball games will be held on Sat., Dec. 21 at 5:30 and 6 p.m. at Medomak Valley High School. Funds from the tournament go to the Dustin Osier Scholarship fund, to support a Medomak Valley graduate pursuing a higher education.
DePatsy Scores 1,000th Collegiate Point Maine Maritime Academy basketball
Maine Maritime Academy senior Nick DePatsy, of Waldoboro, scored his 1,000th career collegiate point. According to the MMA men’s basketball website, DePatsy had 972 career points after three season. He scored 28 points in MMA’s home opener against York College. DePatsy was officially recognized for scoring his 1,000th career point at MMA’s away game at UMaine Machias on November 20.

Medomak’s Undefeated Season Comes to Crashing Halt York 2 - Medomak 1
Seventh seed York upset second seed Medomak 2-1 on Oct. 30 under the lights at Lincoln Academy in a South Class B quarter-final match. The upset win handed the Panthers their first heart breaking loss of the season. The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on their first shot of the ball game on an Ian Doughty corner kick. Will Smith headed in the kick to give Medomak a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest.

Fourth seed Freeport girls soccer team defeated fifth seed Lincoln Academy 4-0 under the lights in the Falcons nest on Tues., Oct. 29 in a South Class B quarter-final game. Catriona Gould netted three goals and Rachel Wall one. Carly Intraversato collected three assists with breakaway passes.

Will Perkins won the South Class C Regional cross country championship to lead Boothbay-Wiscasset to a Regional Runner-up finish. Perkins won in 17:16. Rounding out the scoring five for Boothbay-Wiscasset were 14. Graham Harris, 16. Nathan Chatterton, 30. Griffyn Kristan, and 35. Lucas Hardwick.

Medomak Valley girls soccer team defeated Leavitt 2-0 in a South Class B preliminary game, held at Lincoln Academy on Oct. 26. Unofficial scoring saw Annie Vannoy score on a direct kick less than three minutes into the second half. Sadie Cohen headed in a Vannoy corner kick six minutes later.
