Spring is in the air, and the colors are spectacular! The lilacs, rhodies, and irises have made every stroll along Main Street a sensory delight. Though our own landscaping is a work in progress, we send thanks to Moose Crossing for its generous donation of flowers, and Laura Cabot Catering for planting them. Their beauty is enhanced by the colorful flags and ribbons adorning many village homes and businesses in honor of Pride month.
Open Mic Fundraiser at Inn Along the Way July 1
Kick off summer and Fourth of July weekend by enjoying the sounds and spirit of summer’s awakening. A celebration of music, song, and spoken word will take place from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 in the big red barn at Inn Along the Way, 741 Main St. in Damariscotta.

A celebration of life memorial will be held for Bobbie Joyce Eaton on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Long Funeral Home in Camden. Bobbie was born on July 12, 1937 in her Cherokee grandfather’s log cabin, which he had built on his Cherokee allotment in a rural area near Stilwell, Okla. Bobbie’s parents were Walter Chitwood and Helen Beanstick Chitwood.

Greetings, friends. Well, she’s gone and done it. Mom picked up a pumpkin plant from Pinkham’s Plantation. Apparently, this plant is a seedling from a 2,000-plus-pound pumpkin. Yup, 2,000 pounds of Halloween glory. Mom says we are more than halfway to October. This makes her very happy. I will keep you posted on how it goes.
Damariscotta Celebration Includes Trail Run, Walk, Fun Run, and Festivities
As part of the celebration of the town of Damariscotta’s 175th year, Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust and the Central Lincoln County YMCA are hosting a Quartoseptcentennial 5K trail run, walk, and fun run and other festivities at Coastal Rivers Round Top Farm in Damariscotta starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 1.
