Maine Veterans’ Dental Network Receives Grant

Gov. Janet Mills recently announced that, due to a generous grant from Northeast Delta Dental, the Maine Veterans’ Dental Network will resume its dental services in the new year for Maine veterans who otherwise cannot afford them.

Gertrude T. Rice, 97, of Damariscotta, passed away on Dec. 31, 2021, at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Born in South Bristol on Nov. 8, 1924, she was the daughter of Jennie V. (Plummer) and Harvey F. Gamage.

Paula T. Stillings, 55, of Damariscotta, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. She is survived by her children, Olivia, Audrey, and Vincent Harper.

Elise Belle Merrifield, 85, passed away at her home in Waldoboro on Dec. 24, 2021. Elise was born in Rochester, N.Y. on March 26, 1936, to Max Andrew Karner and Helen Johnson Karner. She grew up in Brunswick and graduated from Brunswick High School in the class of 1955.
