Gerald Leon Brann, 73, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of Sept. 19, 2020. He was born on March 9, 1947 in Gardiner to Walter “Mike” Brann and Bernita Allen Brann.

Elizabeth Cherry Owen, 64, passed away, after a brief illness, on Aug. 5, 2020 in Rockport. Formerly from Baton Rouge, La., Elizabeth had lived in Nobleboro since 2005.

Carol Ann Jones Feb. 9, 1943 - Sept. 15, 2020

Carol Ann Jones (MacAskill) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 with family by her side. She was born on Feb. 9, 1943, in Waltham, Mass. and attended Traip Academy (class of ’61), followed by the nursing program at Maine Medical Center.

A graveside service for Betsy Cunningham, who passed away on Nov. 11, 2019, will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Union on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 at 2 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.

The latest collection of short stories about the town of Wiscasset is now available. “The Town Crier” is the third in a series of local books written by Phil Di Vece who has called “Maine’s Prettiest Village” his home since the 1970s.

Union Church Takeout Supper

The People’s United Methodist Church in Union will be offering a takeout supper on Sept. 25. The church has found a tasty and creative way to replace funding that has been lost due to COVID-19 and the necessary restrictions on public gatherings.
