Alna

The Alna Food Pantry is in the basement of the Alna town office, 1574 Alna Road. The pantry is open from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-6 p.m. Thursday. The pantry allows one visit per week. Area residents are welcome.

The Lincoln County News and Lincoln County Television are hosting a series of candidates forums for local legislative districts, as well as for Lincoln County judge of probate.

Lincoln County Dental, Inc. to Open Soon

Lincoln County Dental, Inc. is pleased to announce that after hiring an office manager and clinical team, the dental center’s administrative operations in Wiscasset will begin early in October. A start date for the provision of patient care will be announced in the next few weeks, but is likely to begin on a part-time basis later in October.

Joseph Robert Hovance

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph Robert Hovance, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He died in Portland, on Sept. 18, 2020, at the age of 78, just one month after the passing of his beloved wife, Jeanne.

Fisher Ladder Restoration Raffle, Fundraising

The annual Damariscotta Mills alewife festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the quilt raffle was not. Christine Ruffley was the winner in the raffle drawing on Labor Day. In front of a small crowd of 11 cheering onlookers, Christine’s ticket number was drawn from the bag by Mary Chase.

Anna “Bonnie” Davis, age 77, of Edgecomb, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

Jean M. Miller, 94, of Waldoboro, passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus.

Elton “Buddy” Murchison Frazier

Elton “Buddy” Murchison Frazier died on Sept. 23, 2020 in Damariscotta. He was a native of Liberty, N.C. and a decorated veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Forces in the South Pacific.
