The head chef and the baker at Oysterhead Pizza Co. have taken over the popular wood-fired eatery in downtown Damariscotta.

“All of my cheeses are made by me, by hand, so to make the Rockweed, I ladle the curd into the bottom half of the form, sprinkle the surface with the powdered seaweed, then fill the rest of the form with curd,” said Allison Lakin, owner and operator of Lakin’s Gorges Cheese at the East Forty Farm in Waldoboro.

Sherry’s Handmade, a new consignment shop showcasing Maine-made arts and crafts, has opened in the Subway building in Damariscotta.

Damariscotta’s Main Street Grocery will have a new look once the IGA logo is eventually removed from the building, but those running the store want it to remain the same friendly neighborhood grocery store locals have come to know and trust.

There’s a new tailor in town, and while he learned his trade in Brooklyn, the pieces he crafts are often inspired by the Maine outdoors. 

In front of Scully’s Sea Products, Andy Rogers and Ryan Jolie stood in the sun, wearing work boots and matching sweatshirts bearing the Appledore Oysters name. Appledore Oysters are what founder and former owner Barbara “Barb” Scully grew onsite on her limited purpose aquaculture lease sites (LPAs).
