The Waldoboro Firemen’s Association will sponsor their annual Turkey Beano at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Master gingerbread house builder Kevin Kiley will once again kick off the gingerbread season in Boothbay Harbor with a free class on the fun art of gingerbread house construction.

Used books of all kinds will be available at Morris Farm on Saturday, Nov. 5, at their first Books for the Barnyard sale. Stop by the farm between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to browse a large selection of used books featuring authors such as Tom Clancy, Stephen King, and John Grisham. Paperbacks, hardcovers, and children’s books will be available.

Judgement Day at the Pownalborough Court House, 4:30-8 p.m. Tickets required and must be ordered in advance.

The Somerville Volunteer Fire Department will host a turkey public supper on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Adults $10, children 6-12 $6, children 5 and under free. The supper will be held at the Somerville Fire Station on Route 17.

After a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, Scary Readings returns to the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor this month. The community is once again invited to participate in the beloved, if spooky, annual Halloween Potluck and Scary Readings night on Friday, Oct. 28.

People of all ages who appreciate a creepy Halloween activity can look forward to special haunted tours at the Pownalborough Court House in Dresden from 4:30-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29.

Local farms in the Bristol area are partnering with the King Ro Market in Round Pond to offer local food, fiber, pumpkins, and demonstrations during the group’s first annual Pemaquid Fall Festival, set for Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Come celebrate the harvest at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville Sunday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The next South Bristol Historical Society meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Parish Hall of the Union Church on Rutherford Island. The program, titled “Coming From Away: Visitors and Vacations in Maine and South Bristol,” will be a conversation between Jayne Gordon and Dave Andrews comparing and contrasting the history of Maine and South Bristol tourism.
