Train and trail fans alike are invited to board the Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington Railway steam train at Sheepscot Station in Alna for a 20-minute trip through the backwoods of Alna to Top of Mountain, where volunteers from Midcoast Conservancy will take passengers on a guided tour of the scenic Trout Brook Preserve.

Every year the alewives run from the ocean to fresh water spawning grounds, and this year runners and walkers can help support their journey with a 5K road race on Saturday, May 28.

South Bristol Historical Society will have its first monthly public presentation of 2022 at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the South Bristol School gym. This is the first of five monthly SBHS presentations open to the community.
