Jan M. Sokoloff, of Warren, beloved wife of Dr. Terence Sokoloff, died Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Sussman House in Rockport, after a gallant battle against cancer.

Christopher Thomas Chapin, 41, of Waldoboro, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 31, 2021.

Elizabeth (Wood) Loemker Furber died in the early morning of July 21, 2021, at her home in Southport, attended by her sons, Bill, Tom and Win.

Most don’t live to be a centurion. There isn’t a Roman army anymore, so you can’t become one that way either. A Boston Post Cane recipient for being “the Oldest [sic] resident of Bristol” was awarded to Gina at age 98. Gina Rayburn died on July 22, 2021 at age 101.

Thomas Bruen Atticks passed away on July 24, 2021, while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, cruising on his motorcycle along scenic Maine country roads in the afternoon sunshine. Tom was born on April 24, 1945, in East Hartford, Conn., to John and Martha Atticks. The youngest of three children.

Norma Helen Ball passed away peacefully in her sleep July 23, 2021, at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. She was born at the doctor’s office on Jan. 8, 1941, in Damariscotta to Mellicent Edith Jones Ball and Joseph Edward Ball.

Merlin G. Smith, age 93, of Rockport, formerly of East Boothbay, died peacefully on July 17, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.

On Wednesday July 28, 2021, Richard Ripley, loving husband and father of one son, passed away at the age of 70. He had recently been diagnosed with metastasized brain cancer.

Michael P. Uminski, “Boston Mike,” of Waldoboro, born Jan. 29, 1956 in Dorchester, Mass., passed away July 24, 2021, at the age of 65, following a motorcycle accident.

On Sunday, July 25, 2021, our community unexpectedly lost a compassionate, adventurous, and generous soul. Kimberly “Kim” Ann Crocker lived her life with laughter and positivity, changing the lives of everyone she met.
