Valerie Gorrill passed on Feb. 12, 2026 in Damariscotta, a place she has called home for the past 25 years. She was born in pre-World War II London and raised in several villages outside of Cambridge, England. Valerie had many passions in life that kept her forever young at heart.

Jeffrey Philip Evangelos was born on Nov. 3, 1952 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Mass. – the cradle of the American Revolution. Fittingly, he entered the world on Election Day, a sign of the civic spirit that would define so much of his life.

Joanna Star Dearing, “Jodi,” 82, of Bristol, passed away at her home on the morning of Jan. 29, 2026 after a brief illness. Born on Oct. 26, 1943 in Winthrop, Mass., she was the daughter of Viola Dearing and Ira Hunkins.

Anthony “Tony” Kilburn, 85, passed away on Jan. 31, 2026 with his loving family by his side.

Paul C. Crandall, 82, passed away on Feb. 1, 2026 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. Paul was born on June 13, 1943 in Beverly, Mass. to Arthur C. Crandall and Mary (Musial) Crandall. Paul attended Beverly High School then went on to Beverly Co-op Trade School to train as a machinist. He later achieved a master’s degree in education.

Robert Eugene Sommers Jr., known as “Bob” or “Coach,” peacefully passed away on Jan. 31, 2026 in Damariscotta. He was born on Nov. 2, 1950 in Brunswick and lived in Freeport, Wiscasset, and Jefferson.

Alan Francis Shea Jr., 41, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of Jan. 28, 2026 from complications following a recent open-heart surgery.

Mary K. Forde (nee Kirwan) passed away peacefully in hospice care in Scarborough on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at the age of 81. A woman of fierce intellect, a restless “spirit of trying,” and a famously sharp “no-filter” wit, Mary lived a life defined by a romantic pursuit of truth and a resilient, “nine-lives” strength.
