The Wiscasset girls soccer team beat Valley 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 11 in Wiscasset. Jessie Rhinebolt scored the only goal of the game.

The Tour De Gourd 5K’s debut in the slate of Damariscotta Pumpkinfest and Regatta offerings proved to be a success, drawing 166 runners and walkers ages 8-71 to the Twin Villages on Monday, Oct. 13. Corey Fehnel, of New Harbor, won the inaugural running of the race with a time of 18:20.

The Medomak Valley volleyball team was shut out by Gardiner 3-0 in a Class C showdown on Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Gardiner. The Panthers beat Brunswick 3-0 on Friday, Oct. 10 in Brunswick.

The Lincoln Academy field hockey team lost to Lawrence 3 1 on Friday, Oct. 10 in Newcastle. Teagan Bryce scored the only goal for the Eagles on a penalty corner in the first half.

The Medomak Valley boys soccer team defeated Morse 2-1 on Monday, Oct. 13 in Bath, avenging a loss to the Shipbuilders in Waldoboro four days prior. The Panthers also coasted to a 5-2 win at Gardiner on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Medomak Valley football defeated visiting York 40-14 on Saturday, Oct. 11 on the Panthers’ field. Jaydiin Ruiz ran for 211 yards, scored five touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions to lead the Panthers to their third win of the season (3-3).

The Lincoln Academy golf team finished ninth and Medomak Valley team came in 14th at the Class B state championship tournament on Friday, Oct. 10 at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro. Panther Joseph Wilcox had the top finish for the Lincoln County schools, carding a score of 13-over par 85 to tie for 11th place with five other golfers.

Following the completion of this year’s points season, Wiscasset Speedway returned to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, hosting its season-ending Fall Fury event.

A local adult tennis team has been busy preparing to compete in the U.S. Tennis Association national championship that will take place Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9 in Surprise, Ariz. To help defray the high cost of the journey to the tournament out west, the CLC YMCA is hosting a triples tournament fundraiser on behalf of the team on Friday, Oct. 17 from 5:30-7 p.m.

The Lincoln Academy girls soccer team lost to York 2-0 in a Class B South contest on Saturday, Oct. 4, and tied Gray-New Gloucester 1-1 on Thursday, Oct. 2 in Newcastle.

Lincoln Academy junior Karen Higgins earned fifth place among 208 runners competing in the girls seeded cross country race at the Festival of Champions on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast.

The Medomak Valley football team lost to Gardiner 28-8 in a Class C showdown under the lights in Gardiner on Friday, Oct. 3.
