Panthers Boys Soccer Loses to Crusaders at Class B North Regional Championship John Bapst 3 - Medomak Valley 1
The Medomak Valley boys soccer team lost to John Bapst 3-1 in the Class B North regional championship game on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Hampden Academy in Hampden. The score was tied 1-1 at halftime, with both teams trading chances at either end in a tightly contested match. Noah Swartz scored the only goal of the game for the Panthers in the first half off an assist by Nevan Power. Dima Cheesman made eight saves for Medomak Valley, who ended their strong season as the Class B North Runner-Up with a 10-3-4 record.

The Medomak Valley boys soccer team defeated Caribou 1-0 in a Class B North semifinal game on Saturday, Nov. 2. The second seed Panthers advanced to the Class B North regional championship against top seed John Bapst on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Hampden Academy at 4 P.M.
Medomak Girls Soccer Advances to Class B North Regional Final Medomak Valley 2 - John Bapst 1
The number one seed Medomak Valley girls soccer team sent John Bapst packing on Saturday, Nov. 2 with a 2-1 victory in a Class B North semifinal match-up. Medomak will play for the Class B North regional title against second seed Hermon on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Hampden Academy at 6:30 P.M.
Eagles Boys Soccer Outlasted By Capers Cape Elizabeth 4 - Lincoln Academy 3
The Lincoln Academy boys soccer team almost erased a three goal deficit in the second half before falling to Cape Elizabeth 4-3 in a Class B South quarterfinal match on Wednesday, Oct 30 in Cape Elizabeth. After trailing 4-1 early in the second half, the Eagles rallied with goals by Peter Thelander and Till Glaser to narrow the margin to 4-3 with nine minutes remaining. The Eagles battled hard all the way to the final buzzer but could not get the equalizer.

Former Lincoln Academy girls soccer star Tatum Hancock did not plan to be a high school soccer coach, but is grateful that it came about.
Panthers Sink Mariners in North B Quarterfinal Medomak Valley 6 - Oceanside 2
The Medomak Valley boys soccer team defeated Oceanside 6-2 in a North Class B quarterfinal game on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Waldoboro. The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Mo Ngido, Luke Cheesman and Nevan Power (back pass from Vishal Mellor). The Mariners scored one goal before the half, then added a second less than ten minutes into the second frame to pull within one. Medomak Valley responded to the threat with three unanswered goals from Ngido, Mellor and Juan Carlson (on a through pass from Noah Swartz).
Panthers Girls Soccer Wins Playoff Battle of the Cats Medomak Valley 3 - Gardiner 0
Scarlett Flint scored two goals to lead the Panthers to a 3-0 Class B North quarterfinal playoff win over Gardiner on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Waldoboro. Summer Staples scored the third Medomak Valley goal, and Kytana Williamson had an assist on Flint’s first breakaway tally. Panthers goalie Chloe Fox made nine saves in net to earn the shutout victory.

Eagles Field Hockey Ends Season With Loss to MCI MCI 9 - Lincoln Academy 1
The Lincoln Academy field hockey team lost 9-1 to MCI on Senior Night, Monday, Oct. 21 in Newcastle. The Eagles trailed only 2-0 at halftime, and narrowed the margin to 2-1 in the opening two minutes of the third quarter before the Huskies got their offense rolling downhill for the rest of the second half. Lexie Houghton scored the lone goal for Lincoln Academy. Eagles goaltender Lucy Nolan made 22 saves in net. Lincoln Academy fell to 4-10 on the season and failed to qualify for the Class B South playoffs.
Eagles Girls Soccer Earns Upset Win Over Morse Lincoln Academy 2 - Morse 0
The Lincoln Academy girls soccer team continued their streak of good play by shutting out Morse 2-0 on Senior Night, Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the Eagles nest. It was the fifth straight game without a loss for Lincoln Academy as they head into the playoffs with a 5-6-3 record. Morse dropped to 6-7-1 on the season.
The Eagles defense had a stellar game on the back end to help earn the shutout led by senior captain Hannah Abello. Lincoln Academy goalie Maggie Thompson made 10 saves in net for the Eagles to preserve the clean sheet.
Panthers Girls Soccer Wins Season Finale on Senior Night Medomak Valley 2 - Erskine 0
The Medomak Valley girls soccer team ended the regular season on a positive note by defeating Erskine 2-0 on Senior Night, Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the Panthers den. Erskine put up a strong fight against the Panthers (12-2), who are the number one ranked team in the Class B North Heal Points standings, as the game was scoreless through the first half. Erskine ended the regular season with a 9-4-1 record and sit in third place in Class B North.
At the Speedway Wiscasset Speedway Sends Off 2024 Race Season With Annual Fall Fury Event
After six months of racing excitement, Wiscasset Speedway bid adieu to their 2024 race season on Saturday with their annual Fall Fury event. This year’s program included the Wicked Good Vintage Racers, the Ladies Acceleration Tour, and a 150-lap enduro.
