The Medomak Valley girls soccer team ended the regular season on a positive note by defeating Erskine 2-0 on Senior Night, Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the Panthers den. Erskine put up a strong fight against the Panthers (12-2), who are the number one ranked team in the Class B North Heal Points standings, as the game was scoreless through the first half. Erskine ended the regular season with a 9-4-1 record and sit in third place in Class B North.

The Lincoln Academy girls soccer team dominated play in a 5-1 win over Leavitt on Tuesday, September 17 in the Eagles den. Rowan Coffin scored two goals to spark the Eagles offense in the victory. Also scoring for Lincoln Academy were Yzze Bhe, Brea Lafrenaye and Mariam DeLisle. Zofie Day had two assists and Charlotte Abello and DeLisle each had one. Maggie Thompson made 14 saves, including a stop on a penalty kick. Lincoln Academy evened their season record at 2-2 while Leavitt dropped to 2-2.
Wolverines Boys Soccer Falls to Spruce Mountain in OT Spruce Mountain 6 - Wiscasset-Boothbay 5
The Spruce Mountain boys soccer team scored in the second overtime session to defeat Wiscasset-Boothbay 6-5 in an epic battle on Saturday, Sept. 7 in Wiscasset. It was a heart-breaking loss for the Wolverines as the Phoenix had tied the score 5-5 with just ten seconds remaining to send the hard-fought match into overtime. The contest was the first Wiscasset boys soccer game since 2021, after which the program was postponed until this season when the Wolverines formed a cooperative squad with Boothbay Region High School and joined the new 8 Person division started by the Maine Principals’ Association in 2023.

The Medomak Valley girls soccer team defeated MCI 8-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the Panthers den. The Lady Panthers netted four goals in each half, led by Scarlett Flint with four goals. Flint netted the final two goals of the game to tie the school record. Haylee Chandler added two goals and Kytana Williamson and Grace Townsend one each.
Swormstedt is First Woman to Win Pemaquid Beach Triathlon Avanataggio is Fastest Local Competitor Earning Fifth Place
A former NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse champion outpaced more than one hundred other competitors to win the Pemaquid Beach Triathlon during pleasant summer weather on Sunday, Aug. 25 in Bristol. Sidney Swormstedt of Laconia, NH became the first female to win the overall race championship. Her blazing time of 1:18:48 beat the closest competitor by more than two minutes. Swormstedt was a member of the 2016 women’s lacrosse team at North Carolina University that won the national championship during her freshman season. Rounding out the top five overall racers were Kyle Long of Portland (1:21:12), Stuart Olsen of Newburyport, MA (1:22:09), Curtis Bentley of Cushing (1:22:32), and August Avantaggio of Damariscotta (1:23:19).
