Two of the top pitchers in midcoast high school softball squared off in an epic pitchers’ duel that was tied 0-0 after regulation. The Panthers committed five errors in the game, including three in the final inning that sank their chance to earn the win.
Windjammers Baseball Outlasts Panthers Camden Hills 4 - Medomak Valley 1
Medomak Valley rallied in the sixth inning to tie Camden Hills but lost 4-1 in eight innings on Monday, May 20 in Waldoboro. Gabe Lash drove in Aaron Reed from second base on a single to tie the game 1-1. Both teams held opposing batters scoreless in the final inning to send the match to overtime. The Panthers made a couple of costly errors in the 8th inning, as the Windjammers plated three runs. Medomak Valley could not get a rally going in the bottom of the extra inning off Camden Hills ace Hunter Bell and the Windjammers held on for the win.

Eagles Girls Lacrosse Sinks Shipbuilders in Overtime Lincoln Academy 9 - Morse 8
The Lincoln Academy girls lacrosse team continued a hot streak on their home turf with an exciting 9-8 overtime win against Morse on Tuesday, May 7 in Newcastle. Mariam Delisle won the draw control to start the overtime session and raced up the field past two Morse defenders and scored the winning goal just 18 seconds into the extra period. Lincoln Academy improved to 4-3 with the win and leaped into first place in the Class C Heal Points. The Eagles are now 4-0 at home. Morse dropped to 6-2 on the season.
Seahawks Baseball Loses to Opportunistic & Sharp-Fielding Mt. Abram Mt. Abram 6 - Boothbay 1
Defense was a key factor in Boothbay’s 6-1 loss to Mt. Abram on Wednesday, May 1 in Boothbay. Seahawks starting pitcher Finn Harkins had a solid performance on the mound, but the defense committed three errors and gave up four unearned runs to an efficient Roadrunners team that took advantage of the miscues. The Seahawks offense hit the ball hard and had chances to score and build momentum, but the Mt. Abram defense made big plays to help secure the win.
Medomak Softball Shuts Out Morse Medomak 17 - Morse 0
The hot hitting Medomak Valley softball team beat Morse 17-0 in four innings by 15 run mercy ruling. Madi Boynton gave up just one walk and three hits, and struck out seven in the win. The Lady Panthers were led at the plate by Claudia Feeley and Kendall Simmons with a homerun and single each, Haley Puchalski with four singles, Sara Nelson two doubles, and Sidney Nichols a double and single.
Panther Baseball Sinks Shipbuilders Medomak 11 - Morse 1
Medomak Valley baseball defeated Morse 11-1 on Monday, April 22. Porter Gahagan (10K, 3H, 2B) collected the win in the six inning mercy ruling win. The Panthers were led at the plate by Sam Moody with a double and single, Donnie Havener two singles, and Walker Simmons a two run double.

More than two dozen players competed in the Spring Fling Pickleball Tournament held on the CLC YMCA tennis courts from the weekend of April 12-14 in Damariscotta. The three-day tournament featured a high level of competition in three divisions: adult singles; women’s doubles; and mixed doubles.
Lincoln Academy Tennis To Serve Up New Young Talent
After a recent run of successful experienced teams, there are many new faces on the Eagles girls tennis squad this season. The program appears to be entering a rebuilding stage as it returns only four players from last year’s elite team that was 13-1 in the regular season and competed against Greely in the Class B South finals.

Dodgeball Tournament To Benefit Wiscasset Girls Basketball
The Wiscasset Middle High School Lady Wolverines basketball team will be hosting a dodgeball tournament on Saturday, April 27. Admission for the double elimination tournament is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
