A man robbed Maxwell’s Market & Deli, on Route 27 in Wiscasset, at about 9:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 27, brandishing a handgun and demanding cash.

Elizabeth (Betsy) Marie Marr

Elizabeth “Betsy” Marie Marr, 80, of Bristol, passed away on Nov. 23, 2020 after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage. Her loving sister Vicky was by her side.

David Owen Van Strien June 24, 1917 - Nov. 22, 2020

David Owen Van Strien, 103, died on Nov. 22, 2020 at the Sussman House in Rockland. He was born on June 24, 1917 in Grand Rapids, Mich. to Abraham and Esther Van Strien. Grand Rapids is where he grew up and is where he met and married Eva Grice, his adored wife of 71 years.

Nancy (Jahn) Hartley, 91, of Newcastle, passed away on Nov. 25, 2020 at her home.

Long Cove Technology issues and Thanksgiving wishes

I know I’ve been delinquent on my writing and I just wanted you all to know that I’m trying to return but I have had a lot of issues with technology. First, my computer that I have used since 2004 decided to quit, and so I tried doing it from my iPad. That worked two out of three tries. So please bear with me as I continue to readjust to all that keeps getting thrown at me.

Local Students Participate in Musical Theater Auditions

On Nov. 14, eight students from the voice studio of Beth Preston participated in the Maine National Association of Teachers of Singing musical theater auditions. In the past, the auditions have been live in front of judges at Bates College. This year, the students submitted video recordings for judges to review.
