Bryan M. Benner passed away July 30, 2022, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after years of heart problems and diabetes.

Newcastle History: Franklin School

at

Franklin School was built in 1901. It would be the last grade school built on Newcastle soil. The Rev. David Quimby Cushman wrote about schools, “The Town, from 1753 to 1881 did very little to support schools. The people were poor and there was much border warfare.”

River Arts invites the public to the opening reception of Elaine Abel and Elizabeth Palmer’s gallery show on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 2-4 p.m. Their show, “Realism, Two Views” will be in the River Room gallery from Thursday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Jordan N. Knox Feb. 24, 1994 - Aug. 12, 2022

Jordan N. Knox passed away unexpectedly at her home in Whitefield on Aug. 12, 2022, at the age of 28. She was born on Feb. 24, 1994 in Rockport to Daniel A. Achorn and Susan L. Peaslee.
