A local adult tennis team has been busy preparing to compete in the U.S. Tennis Association national championship that will take place Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9 in Surprise, Ariz. To help defray the high cost of the journey to the tournament out west, the CLC YMCA is hosting a triples tournament fundraiser on behalf of the team on Friday, Oct. 17 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Higgins Remains Undefeated As LA Girls and Boys Win Medomak XC Meet LA's Card Places Second in Boys Race
Karen Higgins, of Lincoln Academy, placed first in the girls race at the Medomak Elizabeth Bianchi Homecoming XC Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 18 in Waldoboro. Higgins set a personal record in the race through the woods and fields at Medomak Valley High School with a time of 18:16.86. She has won every event she has competed in for the Eagles since transferring from Boothbay Region High School, which competes in Class C.
