Born in Portland to Dean Hughes and Alphaetta Plummer Hughes, Harold liked sledding and being outdoors with his four sisters and three brothers.

Eloise Alberta (Schad) Baker, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home on March 4, 2021, in Bolton, Mass. after a brief illness. Eloise was in the company of her loving family during her last days at home.

Mike Tilton, 93, of Dexter, died March 4, 2021 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1928 in Sheepscot. He served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant in a tank division during the Korean War.

Robert “Bob” Witte, born April 24, 1935, a resident of Waldoboro since July 2000, died peacefully in his home on Feb. 28, 2021 after a prolonged illness.

Arthur Robinson Messer, 88, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and daughters by his side. He was born Oct. 11, 1932 in Claremont, N.H. to Donald Elbridge and Hazel Robinson Messer. He grew up in Claremont, Newport, and Troy, N.H., graduating from Towle High School in Newport in 1950.

James Vincent Maragioglio, 74, of Charleston, S.C., husband of Susan Cote Maragioglio, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021. His private memorial service will be held in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Mary P. Guptill, 73, passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family. Walk-through visits will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28 from 2-4 p.m. at Hall’s of Waldoboro. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held by the family.
