Medomak Valley football wrapped up their season with a 6-2 record, and the top seed in Class C North Crabtree Standings. The Panthers defeated eighth seed Belfast 51-0 on Sat., Oct. 29 in a quarter-final game at McMann Field in Bath.
Boothbay-Wiscasset Boys Fourth in State Class C
Boothbay-Wiscasset boys ran to a fourth place finish in State Class C Cross Country action at Twin Brook Recreation in Cumberland on October 29. Bryan Gagnon led the charge with a 12th place finish, to garner a top 30 award.
Lincoln Girls State Class B Runners-Up Hufnagel and Collamore run to top 10 finishes
Lincoln Academy girls cross country team ran to a second place finish in the State Class B Championships, held October 29 at Twin Brook Recreation in Cumberland. York girls won the State title. Audrey Hufnagel led the Lady Eagles with an eighth place finish. Rounding out the scoring five for LA were 15. Dylan Burmeister, 16. Adeline Hall, 24. Maddy Kallin and 33. Maggie Thompson.

Medomak Valley cheerleading coach Heather Simmons has been named 2021-22 NFHS Maine Cheering Coach of the Year.
Fryeburg Academy Upset LA in South B Quarterfinal Double overtime 2-1
Seventh seed Fryeburg Academy (9-5) upset second ranked Lincoln Academy 2-1 in double overtime in a South Class B boys soccer semi-final match-up on October 26 in the Eagles nest. After a scoreless first half, the Eagles took the lead nine minutes into the second half on a long direct kick from Cody Cleaveland. Pablo Duran beat Fryeburg keeper Aidan Clement to the ball to head it home for a 1-0 LA lead.
Burroughs Named State Tennis Coach of Year
Lincoln Academy girls tennis coach Melissa Burroughs has been named Maine 2021-22 State Girls Tennis Coach of the Year by the Maine Principals’ Association.

Medomak Girls Youth Basketball
Medomak Valley girls winter youth basketball program begins on Sat., Nov. 12 and runs through Jan. 21. The program is open to girls in grades 3-6 in the RSU 40 school district. MVHS varsity girls coach Ryan McNelly will be heading up the program.

Medomak Youth Boys Basketball Clinic starts Nov. 12
The Medomak youth boys basketball program will tip off on Saturday, Nov. 12 for grades 3-6. There will be a basketball clinic on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19 for grades 3-6 at Medomak Valley High School.
Four Local Cross Country Teams Headed to States LA boys and girls, BB-WHS boys, and MVHS girls
Five local cross country teams placed in the top two-thirds in regional competition on Oct. 22 to qualify for the State championships, to be held at Twin Brook Recreation in Cumberland on Oct. 29. B boys run at 12:20 p.m.; followed by B girls at 1 p.m., C boys at 1:40 p.m. and C girls at 2:20 p.m.
