In honor of those who have given so much in service to the country, the town of Bristol invites residents and Lincoln County neighbors and friends to the groundbreaking of its Veterans Memorial River Walk at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Ellingwood Park in Bristol Mills.

After a busy season growing and donating 15,000-plus pounds of organic produce and thousands of flowers, Veggies to Table could use a helping hand with harvesting carrots, parsnips, turnips, kale, and watermelon radish, planting garlic, dividing dahlias, and putting the farm to bed.

Sheldon C. Trask, 68, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away on the evening of Nov. 3, 2021 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Born in Damariscotta on Aug. 11, 1953, he was the son of Clayton and Charlotte (Williams) Trask.

Community Tree of Giving Applications Due Nov. 19

Central Lincoln County YMCA is once again collaborating with community businesses, organizations and individuals to organize the Tree of Giving, which is designed to help families fulfill needs of their children this Christmas.

Whitefield

Two years ago I spent Halloween and Day of the Dead in El Paso, Texas. To witness the love, respect, and remembrance shown to those who have left this earth was incredibly moving and spiritual. It was truly a gift. I thought about this when I recently visited two old Whitefield cemeteries with Charlene Donahue, Barry Tibbetts, and Libby Harmon who are members of the Whitefield Cemetery Committee.

Tarrie L. Wood July 19, 1963 - Oct. 31, 2021

Tarrie L. Wood, 58, of Damariscotta, passed away from health complications at her home the afternoon of Oct. 31, 2021, with her son Brandon by her side. Born on July 19, 1963, in Newburyport, Mass., she came to Maine as a young child.

Edward ‘Ed’ Strausberg

Edward “Ed” Strausberg, 74, of Round Pond, passed away at his home on Nov. 2, 2021, after a period of declining health.
