Monmouth rallied in the final 10 minutes to defeat Boothbay girls basketball 48-39 on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the Seahawks nest. Boothbay led 11-9 at the quarter, and trailed 22-17 at the half. The Seahawks scored the first 11 points of the third quarter to build a six point lead. The Mustangs scored the final 11 (three 3-pointers) to take the lead for good. Boothbay pulled within two midway through the fourth, but the Mustangs ended the game with a 9-2 run. Two Boothbay starters fouled out in the final period. Scoring leaders for Boothbay were Bella Orr with 14 and Tatum French 11. Leading Monmouth were Hailey DeHan and Kaitlyn Frost with 16 each.

Lady Panthers Rob Eagles Nest Medomak Valley 54 - LIncoln Academy 29
The Medomak Valley girls basketball team robbed the Eagles nest for a 54-29 win over Lincoln Academy on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 16-6 first quarter lead. Lincoln cut the lead to seven in the second frame, but it was as close as they would get. Medomak led 30-18 at the end of half. The Panthers’ tough defense held LA to a single basket in the third to put the game out of reach.
Medomak was led by Kytana Williamson with 20 points (9 steals). Audrey Jackson 10 and Sara Nelson 8. Lincoln was led by Mariam DeLisle with 7 (9 rebounds), Olivia Ball 6 and Lillian Labrie 5.
Local Wrestlers Claim Three KVAC Titles Nine local wrestlers medal in league championship meet
Two Lincoln Academy wrestlers and one Medomak Valley wrestler were crowned KVAC champions on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Bath. Adam St. Cyr won the 138 pound title for the Eagles, Jayden Lafrenaye the 165 pound title for LA, and Marshall Addy the 215 pound championship for the Panthers.
Placing second were Erskine Academy’s Giacomo Smith (150), of Whitefield, Medomak Valley’s Grady Pease (165). and Lincoln’s Jakobi Hagar (175). Placing third was Medomak’s Shamus Pease (157), and fourth LA’s Cole Workman (132) and Eric Richmond (285).
Lincoln Boys Handle MCI Lincoln 67 - MCI 32
The Lincoln Academy boys basketball team defeated visiting MCI 67-32 on Saturday, Jan. 27. The physical game saw Eagles starter Tyson Ball break his leg in the first half. Lincoln was led in scoring by Gabe Hagar with 26 points, who needs 48 more points to reach the 1,000 career points landmark. Tucker Stiles added 14, including four 3’s. MCI was led by Drew Shorey with 19.
Friday, Jan. 26 Games Postponed Medomak Pink Out game moved to Jan. 27
Medomak Valley’s basketball double header at home with Oceanside, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 26 has been moved to Saturday, Jan. 27. The girls will play at 5:30 p.m., and the boys at 7 p.m. This is Medomak’s annual Paws for the Cause Pink Out game.
Lincoln Academy boys and girls basketball games against MCI, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 26 have been moved to Saturday, Jan. 27. The boys varsity will play home at 12:30 p.m., and the girls at MCI at 6 p.m.
