Bradford Perkins Schaaf died peacefully on June 8, 2024 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast, Fla. after a brief battle with cancer.
Christine Marcia Munsey Jan. 19, 1930 - June 22, 2024
Christine Marcia Munsey, known to many as only “Marcia,” 94, of Wiscasset, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Horizon’s Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was the next to youngest in a family of 12, born on Jan. 19, 1930 in Wiscasset. She graduated from Wiscasset High School, class of 1948.
Mary Ann ‘Berry’ Moulton 1953-2024
Mary Ann “Berry” Moulton, aged 71, passed away on June 15, 2024, in Wiscasset. Born on March 11, 1953 in Gardiner, Mary is survived by brother, Frederick Berry Jr. and wife, Janice, of Washington; and sister, Donna Burrill, of Skowhegan; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
St. Philip’s Readies For 70th Strawberry Festival
The 70th annual Strawberry Festival, a traditional, family-friendly event, will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at St. Philip’s Church, at 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset.

The next public supper will be Wednesday, July 3. The menu will consist of strawberry soup, rolls, salad, meatloaf, southwestern barley salad, and ice cream sundaes.
Sole and Tread Towards a Safer and Less Car-Focused Community
After a period of “radio silence,” we are continuing to report on the activities of the Public Safety and Accessibility Collaborative. After some recent changes, we are now working on increased collaboration between Damariscotta and Newcastle. And, indeed, our popular walking map has long been described as the Twin Villages Walking Map, and the Damariscotta Measured Mile – one of its features – is now a regular walking loop for both residents and summer visitors alike. (Walking Maps are available throughout the town and are free.)

Beano Returns to Round Pond June 27
While much of the country now calls the game bingo, it’s still called by its original name of beano here in Round Pond, and on Thursday, June 27, the Round Pond Schoolhouse Association will present its first beano night of the season.
