Thomas College student and Whitefield native Zephyr Lani-Caputo won third place in season 10 of “Greenlight Maine: College Edition” a business competition show. He won $5,000 and competed against students from both Colby College and the University of New England.

Barbara Decker Egbert
Barbara Decker Egbert lived a joyful life filled with laughter and friendship until she left us on May 22, 2025. Her joie de vivre was her most beautiful trait and her chic outfits, hats, and lipstick were recognizable everywhere in her social world. She always wanted to live to be 100 until she got to her 90s. Suddenly her best friend was gone, everything hurt, and it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Her advice is to live life to the fullest while you can – don’t put off your dreams until you hurt too much to enjoy them!
Geraldine ‘Gerri’ M. Sawyer March 14, 1946 - June 30, 2025
Geraldine “Gerri” M. Sawyer, 79, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on March 14, 1946 in Rockland to Ralph and Mildred (Erwin) Thompson. She grew up in Rockland and attended local schools, graduating from Rockland High School.
