A private graveside service for Malcolm “Mack” Simmons, who passed away on June 29, 2021, will be held on the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 18 at the Highland Cemetery in Nobleboro. His family will be hosting a public celebration at his home, 280 Lower Cross Road in Nobleboro, following the service, starting around 12 p.m.

Monarch butterflies sip nectar to fuel them on an epic migration to their wintering grounds in Mexico. One type of beetle oozes green liquid from its knees to deter predators.

Most don’t live to be a centurion. There isn’t a Roman army anymore, so you can’t become one that way either. A Boston Post Cane recipient for being “the Oldest [sic] resident of Bristol” was awarded to Gina at age 98. Gina Rayburn died on July 22, 2021 at age 101.

Thomas Bruen Atticks passed away on July 24, 2021, while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, cruising on his motorcycle along scenic Maine country roads in the afternoon sunshine. Tom was born on April 24, 1945, in East Hartford, Conn., to John and Martha Atticks. The youngest of three children.
