Joshua David Libby, 45, of Newton, Mass., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, in his beloved Boston, Mass. He departed in the loving embrace of his parents, and his brother and sister, to be reunited with his best friend, Thai.
CLC Y’s ‘Community Giving Tree’
The Central Lincoln County YMCA is accepting applications for families in need of gifts this holiday season. Those in need may pick up an application from the CLC YMCA after Nov. 2. The Y is working to add local schools, churches, and town offices for application pick up locations. 1983 Waldoboro Slaying Still a Mystery
In the fall of 1983, Douglas Parent was counting down the days until his well-earned retirement. After years of running the Waldoboro News Stand, the Waterville native and World War II veteran was planning to start the next chapter of his life. Set to retire on Jan. 1, 1984, Parent was instead killed sometime between the evening of Oct. 2 and the early morning of Oct. 3, 1983. Thirty-seven years later, the events that led to Parent’s death remain unclear.
