Lincoln Academy graduates Nathan True (‘22) and Jonas Stepanauskas (‘24) often travel throughout Maine and New England to find the perfectly pitched, “gravity” trails they crave.

The success of a competition-level track in proximity to the Midcoast area is helping to fuel more interest in the niche sport in Lincoln County. A group of Medomak Valley area racers competed in various age divisions and motorcycle classes at the Wheeler Spring MX track on Saturday, Aug. 2 in Bowdoin. The local kids train together and ride for fun on informal trails in Warren and Waldoboro, but competing at a tournament race track like Wheeler Spring MX with hundreds of other kids on summer weekends is a thrill they look forward to.
CLC YMCA Adult Tennis Team Wins New England Championship
The Central Lincoln County YMCA coed adult tennis team won the mixed 18 and over United States Tennis Association New England sectional championship on June 22 in Simsbury, Conn. It is the first time a team from the CLC YMCA has won a USTA sectional championship.

Camden Hills beat number one seed Medomak Valley 55-49 in a Cony Summer League boys basketball championship tournament semifinal match on Monday, July 28 in Augusta. The Windjammers then beat No. 3 seed Gardiner 53-45 to earn the championship title.

With the loss on Monday and another defeat at the hands of Capital Area on Saturday, July 19, the District 2 champion team was bounced from the double elimination Maine Little League 12U championship tournament.

Linehan Wins Sheepscot River Race
Ryan Linehan won the 32nd annual Sheepscot River Race on Sunday, July 6 in Wiscasset. Linehan paddled a kayak to victory in a time of 54 minutes flat. The 6-mile canoe and kayak race began at the Route 1 rest area bridge in Newcastle and finished at the town landing in Wiscasset.
