Lincoln Academy junior Kellen Adickes earned a third place finish at the boys Maine Class B championship held at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro on Friday, Oct. 6. Adickes carded a 74 on the par-72 Tomahawk Course at Natanis. His score was just four strokes behind individual boys champion Eli Spaulding, of Freeport, and one behind second place Jack Quinn, of Gardiner.
Wiscasset Native Completes Appalachian Trail Hike on Sept. 12
After two nights of practice camping in a tent in Florida, former Wiscasset native Carla Urquhart Pierce set off on the adventure of a lifetime hiking the Appalachian Trail to Maine. Although she started the epic hike in late March with her cousin, Pierce would spend almost five months of the trip as a solo hiker, often teaming up with a community of trekkers she met along the way.

Second Annual Paddle For A Purpose Thrives Despite Cold, Wet Weather
A fleet of 85 paddlers braved unusually harsh weather on Saturday, June 3 to celebrate the second annual Paddle for a Purpose. The fundraising event featured a five-mile trek by canoe, kayaks, and paddleboards down the Damariscotta River from the Damariscotta harbor to Glidden Point Oyster Farms in Edgecomb.
