Nobleboro Boys Advance to Busline League Championship Small school division at Searsport, Sat., Feb. 1
Nobleboro boys and girls basketball teams won their South Division games to advance to the Busline League Small School Division championships. The championship games will be played on Sat., Feb. 1 at Searsport. The girls play at 11 a.m. and the boys at 1 p.m.

Nokomis girls basketball team (6-9) defeated Medomak Valley (5-11) 51-38 on Jan. 28 at Nokomis. The Lady Panthers’ loss drops them to ninth place, and boosts Nokomis to eighth in North A Heal Point standings. The top eight teams move on to post season play.
Cougars Double Trouble for Wolverines
Dirigo was double trouble for the Wolverines in a boys and girls basketball double header in the Cougars den on Jan. 28. Dirigo boys defeated Wiscasset 71-28 led by Wyatt Smith 11, PJ Merrill 10 and Mike Packard 10. Wiscasset was led by Billy Pinkham with 14.

Marananacook girls basketball team defended their home court for a 41-37 win over Lincoln Academy on Jan. 24. The Lady Eagles dug themselves into a hole early, 16-0 after the end of the first quarter. “The kids played hard. After a horrible first quarter, the kids just battled hard,” coach Kevin Feltis said. Lincoln’s tying 3-point attempt late in the game fell short.

Hampden Academy girls basketball team robbed Meodmak in the Panther den 58-32 on Jan. 24. Hampden led 12-10 at the quarter, before pulling away 23-16 at the half and 37-19 at the end of three.
Black Bears Maranacook 80 - Lincoln 32
Marancook defeated Lincoln Academy 80-32 in KVAC boys basketball action on Jan. 24. The Black Bears jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter lead and continued to build on it, leading 40-21 at the half and 62-24 at the end of three.
Rebels Rally Over Wolverines Telstar 79 - Wiscasset 44
Telstar boys basketball team robbed the Wolverines den of a 79-44 win on Jan. 24. The Wolverines stayed with the Rebels in first quarter action, tailing by seven, 18-11 at the break. Telstar led 35-24 at the half, before pulling away in the third quarter, 56-27.
Telstar Girls Wins the Battle of the Winless Telstar 47- Wiscasset 28
Wiscasset girls basketball teams best chance for a win this season was short changed by the visiting Rebels of Telstar on Jan. 24, 47-28. The win was the first of the season for Telstar.
